Biography
A lifetime dedicated to restoring mobility and hope.
Prof. Dr. Michael Weber is a world-renowned, German Board-Certified Orthopaedic Specialist and Trauma Surgeon. He has brought new hope to patients suffering from limb deficiencies, deformities and malformations. He is also a well-renowned Professor of Orthopaedics and Faculty Member of the internationally acclaimed RWTH Aachen University, Germany.
Prof. Weber is one of the first doctors from Germany who was invited to visit Prof. Dr. Gavriil A. Ilizarov in 1990. He took part in Dr. Ilizarov's first international course for limb lengthening and reconstruction at his hospital in Kurgan, Siberia, toured the hospital facilities, and took part in the clinical and surgical routine.
Inspired by Dr. Ilizarov's genius achievements and encouraged by him personally, Prof. Weber followed up with his own innovative ideas, techniques and concepts for limb lengthening and limb reconstruction, and established them in Germany and worldwide.
